Composition
I’ve been fascinated by composition ever since I realized a composer can sit down with pencil and paper and bring music to life from imagination. Exploring centuries of extraordinary music, from Bach to Berio, continues to inspire me.
My work draws on 20th-century composers such as Bartók, Boulez, and Carter, and has been profoundly shaped by my teachers Salvatore Macchia and Alla Cohen. I aim to create a musical language that navigates the chromatic universe while maintaining clarity and communicating ideas effectively to performers and audiences.
STINO Trio
Improvisation is a counterbalance to composition. While composing gives me control, improvisation thrusts me into the unknown. With the STINO Trio, I return to my roots, diving into jazz and blues with a feeling of coming home. Whether performing originals or standards, every show becomes an unexpected journey.
