Teaching Philosophy
As a guitar teacher, I’m committed to helping students become well-rounded musicians. My teaching focuses on strong fundamentals: reading music, understanding harmony/rhythm, developing musical vocabulary, and learning to trust and use the inner ear while playing.
Every student’s goals and interests are different, so I build lessons around the music you love. Over years of teaching, I’ve found this approach to be the most effective way to keep students engaged while producing real, lasting progress. I strive to expand your skills while deepening your connection to the music that inspires you.
Whether you’re preparing for auditions, writing original music, or returning to the instrument, I strive to create a focused, supportive environment where meaningful growth can happen.
Lineage & Purpose
I’ve had the good fortune of studying with exceptional guitarists—Jon Damian, Mick Goodrick, and David Tronzo—and composers—Alla Cohen, Salvatore Macchia, and Panos Liaropolous—whose teaching shaped both my musicianship and my values. Teaching allows me to continue this lineage, passing on a high standard of musical education to the next generation of musicians.
